Architecting Enterprise Applications – Data Perspective
Seminar 10: Architecting Enterprise Applications – Data Perspective
Speaker: Dr Uma Shanker, Senior Architect Date: Tuesday 22nd March 2011 Venue: Greenwich Maritime Campus - King William 302 Time: 10:00 Today's enterprise level applications require much interactive data compare to their earlier legacy applications. Though the core principles are still the same but more interfaces are required to serve end-users through internet. Nowadays, technologies such as virtual machines caches, distributed caches, data clustering, key-value pair databases are also used while designing scalable big internet based enterprise applications. These applications are highly interactive and generally use AJAX/REST for updates. Moreover, these applications run in the virtual environment, so that we can scale up and down them on demand. This talk will provide general overview and some hints on the different components of the enterprise applications from the data perspective. |
