Climate change, spiralling oil costs, energy security fears... the world needs clean, reliable energy. In April 2010 the UK government introduced FIT payments for micro generation of renewable electricity. FIT has lead to a spike of small PV installations. Aims of this presentation is a practical introduction to renewable energy topics such as irradiation by geography, the stated aims of the FIT, analysis of the Ofgem Dec 2010 FIT installation report and also looks at PV’s roll in a clean-energy Britain. The conclusion being that micro-PV will ‘engage more people in tackling climate change’. Here's how to get a piece of the action.
